They've discontinued all of Dad's meds today; the only care he is receiving is strictly palliative. We're going to visit tomorrow, but that might be too late.

Those of you following along may have been wondering where my pics of the day have gone - I've been taking them (though I may have missed a few), but I haven't been posting.

Those of you following along will also know that my Father is 86, has Parkinson's and is in declining health. He's in the hospital again in Windsor, and the attending physician has let us know that it may only be a matter of days or weeks - perhaps a month at the most - before he passes. His heart has given its all, and just can't keep up anymore.

The 'Pic of the Day' will be back - you'll just have to forgive my hiatus for now.

To celebrate Queen Vicky's birthday, we set off the Family Pack of fireworks from Costco. They were pretty good - some actually fired shells that turned into 'real' starbursts.

However, one of the bottle rockets went off course - and blew a hole in our two-man tent...

I went to Windsor today; my Father is in the hospital, showing signs of Congestive Heart Failure - the latest in his array of ailments.

Those of you following along will know he suffers from Parkinson's Disease. Every time I go to visit, I bring my camera, hoping I will be able to take a portrait of my Father, or of both my parents - and each time, I find I cannot.

Alex suffered from frequent ear infections when he was younger, so two years ago he had tubes put in his ears.

Since then, he's had to wear earplugs when swimming or in the tub. None of the over-the-counter plugs have really worked well, so today we went and had him fitted for custom ear plugs.
